Sugar Creek Low-Head Dam Removal

Orbis was involved with the removal of the last remaining dam on Sugar Creek, near Crawfordsville, Indiana. This low-head dam was built in the early twentieth century to impound water for the Crawfordsville Electric Light and Power Plant.

The plant ceased operating in the early 2000s. Removing the dam will improve the ecology of Sugar Creek.
