Ralph Towner and John Abercrombie - February 10, 1985 Iron Horse Saloon, Northampton, Massachusetts

Описание к видео Ralph Towner and John Abercrombie - February 10, 1985 Iron Horse Saloon, Northampton, Massachusetts

This was a great musical partnership for many years until John Abercrombie passed away. The two different guitar styles complemented each other well, as did their styles of tune composition. This is a very good audience recording of the two in a reasonably small venue, and you can hear the nuances of their playing very well. I don't recall who I obtained this from back in 1985 (Rich Williams was this yours?), but it is a low generation copy. At 30:28, Towner tells the story of how and when Abercrombie composed one of his more well-known tunes, Ralph's Piano Waltz. Among the tunes played were a few by Towner that were, at that time, untitled. Also, my apologies to the residents of Northampton, Massachusetts for adding an extra "h" in the banner above.
