Sammy--a bubbly, adorable, chubby cheeked one-year-old girl--is a congenital PFFD amputee. She took her first steps a few months ago using a socket which extended up to her thigh. At that time her doctors were not sure yet if her knee would grow normally, so until that could be determined, Sammy was fit with the taller socket. Last month her parents received the news they had been hoping for--Sammy's knee is developing normally! Last week we modified Sammy's socket to a BK level and off she went--a little wobbly at first, but she soon she was joyfully bounding around the office as she discovered and easily adapted to the new freedom of movement. What a great day at POA! #FeelingBlessed #WeLoveOurKids
