Blender For Noobs - In this tutorial, I give a very basic introduction to the node editor, focusing on the materials portion.

Note: Make sure you have "Cycles" selected as the render engine!

I also go over some information about the Online Material Library created by Peter Cassetta

Details about the Online Material Library:

Download the library using the link to the zip file found here:

Save the file on your computer and install using the instructions in my tutorial or in the link above.
Once installed, you will need to apply a fix. The fix can be found here:

(don't use the big download button, just the small one)

Copy the "_init_.py" file from the zip file to where your online material library installed on your pc. For me, it was NOT in the regular Blender install folder. It was under C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.69\scripts\addons\online_mat_lib
Restart Blender and it should work.

Note! The material library is still in beta and does not work 100% with the latest version of Blender.
