The drying column is formed by a bucket elevator which loads an upper hopper and by a number of modules with internal ducts, immersed in the grain, which descends by way of gravity in a zigzag movement. The grain encounters a countercurrent of hot air in the upper drying zone and a stream of air from the outside environment in the lower cooling zone. The exhaust air exits directly into the atmosphere. The quantity of grain released is predetermined and regulated by a pneumatic extractor. The product is collected in a discharge hopper and sent to a second bucket elevator that brings the product to a certain height for subsequent transportation to its destination.
Recycling
The drying column is formed by a single loading/unloading bucket elevator which feeds the upper hopper, and by a number of modules with internal ducts immersed in the grain, which descends by way of gravity in a zigzag movement. Along the entire column the grain encounters a countercurrent of hot air and is dried by continuous recycling until it reaches the desired humidity. At this point the burner is stopped and the product is cooled with air from the outside environment only. The exhaust air exits directly into the atmosphere. The quantity of grain released is predetermined and regulated by a pneumatic extractor. The product is collected in a discharge hopper and transported by the same bucket elevator to a certain height for subsequent transportation to its destination.
