Eagles require both parents for incubation, one parents can't do it alone.

Bald Eagle Eggs 101: Off-white and oval, 3" long by 2" wide, weigh 4 – 4.5 oz., laid 3-5 days apart. More info here https://imgur.com/a/Fd3UZgA

Eggs may have many markings or false pips (dirt, fluff, imperfections). If you suspect a pip, keep an eye on that spot. A real pip grows over time & becomes a larger, more obvious Pip Site.

The crop is eagles' "to go” box, an expandable part of the esophagus where they store food (up to 2lbs). Eagles can go for days without food if their crop is full!

How long is too long? There is no simple answer. It depends on the age of the egg, internal temp, weather etc. Adults may leave eggs for several hours in subfreezing temps with no adverse effect.

Eagles aerate the nest bowl by digging into the nesting materials and flipping them over. It improves incubation effectiveness & introduces O2, releases vapor and keeps the nest bowl from compressing
