Slingshot Canyon - Sedona, Arizona

Recently we got to take a trip through a beautiful canyoneering route in Sedona. We went with my friend and his wife. Eric actually did the first descent of this route. It starts at the Boynton Canyon Trailhead and goes directly by the Sedona Subway cave. Seems everyone hiking Boynton Canyon is there looking for the Subway. But Slingshot continues above the Subway, past the crowds. Fun rappels and great views. It’s also a fairly easy technical route, making it good for more experienced canyoneers to take their less experienced friends out on a fun half day adventure. (It’s STILL a technical canyon requiring the gear and ability to safely descend, so keep that in mind.)
