Kohrra Season 2 Review by Sucharita Tyagi - The landscape where Kohrra takes place is so bleak that certain illegal activities don’t even warrant discussion. “Faaltu mein peet diya bechare ko”, a cop says before moving on. Amid this apathy, Sharma and Rahman direct a whodunnit that spends most of its duration deliberately moving away from the murder it’s supposed to be about. Who committed the felony, becomes a footnote in the exploration of why society must create an environment in which people commit crimes, almost unwillingly and unwittingly. You can see suppressed emotion begin to leak out, weakening the joints of its people who are its tragic vessels, until inevitable explosions go off simultaneously, charring everyone in their incalculable impact radius.

As a viewer, you’re confident of an incoming satisfactory pay-off, partly because of the creator’s track record but also partly because what you see on the screen is in constant conversation with you. Everything has a conscience that is alive. Each blade of grass in Dalerpura holds the answer to who is selling drugs, each coil of smoke on Lohri hovers above, watching a crime being committed- the answers are all around, you just have to ask the soul of Punjab itself.
