The Life Of Viserys Targaryen

Prince Viserys Targaryen is hands down one of the best written characters in Game Of Thrones. Although he’s not what one would consider a long term character (who is anyway with killing sprees George RR Martin goes on) Viserys is a fantastic example of weak man hiding behind the strength of his family name which has lost but all credibility. By right, he was the legit and rightful claim to the iron throne following the death of his father, King Aerys the second and his older brother, Prince Rhaegar, during Robert's Rebellion. He styles himself as "Viserys of the House Targaryen, the Third of his Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm" as he had been declared king on Dragonstone after his father's death. Today we’re going to take a look at his life and the mistakes he made that led to his death.
