mode opératoire d'une technique de laboratoire photo argentique : le mordancage.
La technique du mordançage en photographie date des années 70 et reste assez méconnue, pourtant c'est un procédé extraordinaire qui laisse la place à une grande créativité! Le mordançage permet d'intervenir sur un tirage argentique classique pour l'interpréter de façon tout à fait différente...en le détériorant.
Le principe est simple : on attaque avec un bain mordant et acide un tirage argentique classique; la gélatine se décolle et on agit dessus en la déplaçant, en créant des voiles, des reliefs... un procédé entre photo et sculpture en somme!
J'ai fais cette vidéo pendant un stage car de nombreuses personnes m'ont demandé "comment ça marchait" et que c'est inexplicable sans le voir!

The etching technique in photography dates back to the 1970s and remains relatively unknown, yet it is an extraordinary process that leaves room for great creativity! Etching makes it possible to intervene on a classic silver print to interpret it in a completely different way...by deteriorating it.
The principle is simple: attack with a mordant and acid bath a classic silver print; the gelatin peels off and we act on it by provoking it, weighing veils, reliefs... a process between photography and sculpture in short!
I made this video during an internship because many people asked me "how did it work" and it's inexplicable without seeing it!
