Nick Viall is reflecting on a wild moment from his Bachelor season with The Valley star Jasmine Goode.
“I would love an apology from Jasmine,” Nick, 44, quipped during the Thursday, May 29, episode of his “Viall Files” podcast when talking about with star Janet Caperna. “I’m still triggered.”
Long before she was part of The Valley, Jasmine, 37, appeared on Nick’s The Bachelor season in 2017. During one group date during the season, Jasmine confronted Nick about not getting a one-on-one. She shared her frustration by putting her hand on Nick’s throat and expressing that his behavior made her want to choke him.
The throwback Bachelor moment came up during Thursday’s podcast episode when Nick and Janet, 35, discussed Jasmine’s onscreen claim about costar Danny Booko. During The Valley season 2, Jasmine alleged that Danny, 41, was inappropriate with her and now-fiancée Melissa Marie when he was drunk. Danny has since apologized.
“All the jokes aside of the Jasmine strangling me and things … that did make me uncomfortable. There was a blackout moment,” Nick admitted during Thursday’s podcast, explaining his issue with The Valley focusing on the past incident between Jasmine and Danny.
“I think that’s what a lot of fans struggle with, is that there’s this one incident and everything you’re saying is valid. I think everyone agrees [about Danny],” Nick explained. “But it seems like it’s getting a whole lot of attention versus some of the atrocities of some of these other castmates.”
Nick speculated that the audience is “struggling” watching the focus be on Danny and Jasmine when Jax Taylor has done “so much worse.” Nick also stated that the cast is quick to “gloss over” Jesse Lally calling ex-wife Michelle Lally “a whore” — but not this.
Danny’s drinking and questions about his marriage with wife Nia have been raised throughout this season of The Valley. The couple told Us Weekly last month they felt like there was “a target” on their backs throughout the season.
“There were a lot of conversations that happened that we were not a part of,” Nia told Us in April. “There’s moments that catch you off guard a little bit.”
Nia said her husband handled himself “with integrity and character” despite the rumors about their relationship.
“All you can do is put your best foot forward and handle everything with ownership, character, integrity and move on, get better and take care of it,” Danny said. “All you can do is make sure the No. 1 relationship is us and that we’re strong. That’s what we always do. We’re really strong in communication and making that happen.”
