Police remove students during a pro-Palestine protest at Madrid's Complutense University due to the prolonged occupation of the premises.

Protesters organized a sit-in, halting traffic on the avenue, demanding that universities cut relations with Israel and denounce the genocide.

A protester explained the group's demands, stating, "The Madrid University camp for Palestine occupied a stretch of Avenida Complutense, in front of the Ciudad Universitaria metro stop. More than 80 people have moved their tents to cut the road. The students are occupying the space to demand that universities cut relations with Israel," she said.

"The Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Action aims to make the public universities in Madrid break their agreements with the State of Israel and denounce the genocide that is being perpetrated in Palestine. Israel is a murderer! The University sponsors! Israel is a murderer! The University sponsors," she added.

The police response included at least twenty vans and over a hundred riot police officers from the Police Intervention Units (UIP), who arrived an hour before the removal.
