Hey Dads,

Are you looking for the best HDTV Antenna? Antop makes an antenna called the Antop Big Boy AT-402b Outdoor HDTV Antenna Smartpass Amplified antenna, and they wanted me to check out their antenna.

First of all, they call this the Big Boy Antenna because it's BIG. I do want to note that this HDTV antenna is not as big as the Homemade HDTV Antenna that I made from a fence post and some copper wire. Unlike my homemade HDTV antenna, Antop Antenna is a powered antenna so you will have to run some power to the cord with the power adapter, whether that is in the attic or at the antenna.

With an OTA Antenna, like this Antop Antenna, this will catch free TV from your local stations that are broadcasting HDTV signals. I have used many HDTV antennas in the past, and I usually can pick up CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PBS, CW, H&I, MeTV and a few other local stations. #HDTVantenna

I really like that Antop Antenna sends you the hardware that you need to install this antenna on your house so that you can get it as high as possible. The higher you are able to get your HDTV antenna so that obstructions are not in the way of the signals, then the better you will be able to pick up the free TV stations. #freeTV

In this video I hook up my Homemade HDTV Antenna and do a channel scan to see what Free TV channel I pick up on that antenna. Then I plug in the Antop Antenna and run a scan on their Big Boy antenna to see how it performs compared to my homemade hdtv antenna.
