***DISCLAIMER Pantera usually tune to D Standard a 1/4 step flat The song really takes me back. I remember hearing the intro riff for the 1st time in my early teens and thinking “that chromaticism is a bit silly”. But it grew on me. A few months back I had a student wanting to learn the solo and I was like “sure why not, how hard could it be?”… turns out, QUITE. There’s some dumb stretches, fast legato and some pretty ridiculous picking.
This solo is not for the faint of heart. Please be easy on yourselves.
