So, none of these magic "all in one" compounds are perfect. You always will do better with a full scrub down / inspection than they can do cleaning wise. Point lubrication with the right lube here and a different lube there and another one over there is going to work best.

All of that is fine if you aren't in a hurry. If you are out at the range or on a hunt, you just don't have the time / space / gear to do a full detailed job (unless you have a very unusual setup ....). There most certainly will be times that something quick is needed. That's just how things always seem to work out. CLP has done a good job for me on a whole range of firearms for a very long time. It cleans well and it lubes well. It does not seem to leave a pile of goo behind or create tough to remove films on things.
