Description
A role-playing game with mystery and noir action set in a 24-hour metropolis.
After the events of the previous evening, I awoke with a start, my mouth taste like an old glove, and my head pounding. I wasn't sure if the thrashing from Benny's thugs or the half bottle of drugstore whiskey had caused the most harm, though. I opened my eyes like obstinate blinds to see a woman holding a cheap bean-shooter in one hand and a pocketbook worth $100 in the other. I sighed and swore at myself for ever getting mixed up in this situation.
Character creation in Hard City is quick and easy, producing capable but imperfect people and emphasizing what makes them unique as they tread the tight line between right and wrong. Fast action resolution emphasizes the plot's drive, and the sandbox setting offers vivid hooks for adventures like fighting criminals, saving the defenseless, foiling blackmail conspiracies (or hatching ones! ), and exposing corruption in the mayor's office.
Explore the rough streets of a society where criminals, femme fatales, hard-nosed gumshoes, intrepid reporters, and two-bit thugs all struggle to survive in the concrete jungle. Danger is never far away in the rough city because there is trouble around every corner, a secret on everyone's lips, and a gun in everyone's pocket.
