Tom's sign. Hypermobile lateral meniscus.

Описание к видео Tom's sign. Hypermobile lateral meniscus.

💥 Frequently unnoticed, the hypermobile lateral meniscus is an entity that causes pain and limitation in the external compartment of the knee. In more than 90% of the cases, the MRI is reported as normal.
Among the different causes, there is the inferior meniscotibial coronal ligament injury.
Tom's Sign (described by 🔝Gilbert Steinbacher - 📚ESSKA 2018 - colleague at Instituto Cugat) demonstrates the instability of the lateral meniscus by activating aspiration with the arthroscope once we are in front of the lateral meniscus.
Its fixation by meniscal sutures achieves the correct stabilization of the meniscus.
