UoN shut indefinitely following riots by students

The University of Nairobi has been shut indefinitely following a two day protest by students opposing the re-election of Babu Owino as SONU Chairperson. The Senate ordered the closure of the University effective from 5 pm sparking protests at the Universities Lower Kabete Campus as students protested the closure of the institution barely a week before the students sit for their examinations. This comes as police disowned a video that went viral purportedly showing GSU officers caning rioting students.
