Around the time of VIKINGS on ‪@HISTORY‬ and ‪@gameofthrones‬ on ‪@HBO‬, indie studio ‪@roadsendfilms‬ produced the sizzle reel for RUNESTONE, an epic Norse Saga of action and adventure.

Packaged as a television series, the RUNESTONE narrative follows a young but powerful Norse explorer who in the 9th Century traverses an uncharted ocean to the farthest shores of a mysterious new world. He stakes his claim and requests aid from his father in Iceland, who in turn mounts a high-stakes effort to reunite with his son. Little does the young explorer know, this new land is filled with cunning and formidable Natives, as well as a dark and evil force that threatens the lives of everyone.

Principal photography of a 37-minute character studies pitch wrapped in mid-2014, and over the last 10 years the project has gone through a journey of film markets, industry representation, meetings and festivals. Accolades have accumulated, as well as feedback, constructive criticism, and interest.

The production has attached some great partners and the quest for the next step continues (IFKYK). But in what feels like an appropriate milestone, as well as the end of the pitch video's festival run, we are pleased to finally make it available for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who has participated in the project's development, filming, packaging and presentation journey thus far. There are so many amazing narratives that never make it to broadcast, and nothing is ever guaranteed, but Road's End Films continues to press forward with RUNESTONE in hopes that maybe someday... the stars align and the hard work pays off.
