Leslie Green, a licensed wildlife rehabber with Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries, has been rescuing and rehabilitating injured and orphaned animals for over 8 years. Through her non-profit River Bandit Wildlife Rescue, she cares for skunks, foxes, raccoons, coyotes, beavers, otters, and even a bobcat currently in rehab. They just have one mission: to release them back into the wild.

Her journey began a decade ago with a baby raccoon named River, only 7-8 weeks old, which sparked a lifelong passion for wildlife rehabilitation. Today, Leslie and nearly 60 other dedicated rehabbers across Louisiana provide food, medical care, and shelter, often funding it out of their own pockets.

With the supportive community over 100 wild animals are rescued every year! But, it's never easy, rehabbers face long days, emotional goodbyes, and the challenges of keeping these animals wild enough to return home Still, every release back into the forest, swamp or bayou is worth it.
