NBA what if is a trending topic because they have the potential to change the league. Anthony Davis free agency would be a big talking point but everyone assumes he will re-sign with the Lakers. Anthony Davis turned down the Lakers’ maximum extension in January and will most likely sign with them in the offseason but if he didn’t it could create a new dynasty elsewhere. Anthony Davis Bulls, Anthony Davis Bucks, Anthony Davis Warriors, Anthony Davis Clippers and Anthony Davis Knicks could be a possibility and this video explores a really fun NBA What If?

so why would anthony davis leave the lakers? first let’s talk money. the lakers can offer as much as 5/202m.d. in the summer. that’s $56m.d. more than the offer he turned down already.

or a.d. can really go big and sign a 2+1 deal the lakers. at the end of that he’ll have 10 years of service and can literally make the most money any person earn playing basketball, 35% of the cap, a.k.a. over a quarter billion dollars!!!

so why the hell would a.d. leave millions of dollars on the table?? you’d have to ask him, that’s just what he does. when he went from the pelicans to the lakers, davis left $36m potential dollars on the table. that’s how much more he could have made re-signing with the pelicans. it’s similar to what kawhi leonard did when he left san antonio. he left tens of millions on the table going from san antonio to toronto, then millions more going to the clippers.

i guess money doesn’t mean everything to these guys when they’re already set for life. a.d. already signed a then-record $145m.d. deal with the pelicans about 5 years ago. yes! he’s already made over $100m.d. at age 27!!! god, i wish i could play basketball.

so if money isn’t the end all, be all then what is? winning! you might say, no - it’s location, he wants to live in the perfect weather and glamour of l.a….that’s not true! this list is important for where he could go but let’s break it out now...when davis demanded a trade out of new orleans his list of teams was: lakers, clippers, bucks, knicks! so..granted, the knicks means location is somewhat important but winning is right up there.
