No matter what the industry, it's truly all about the people. That was the main lesson our crew learned about during their second sit down with representatives of ‪@LcswmaOrg‬ Dan Youngs and Amanda Manning are part of the leadership team at the organization and shared their career paths with our crew. While they both focus on different aspects of leadership within the organization the common bond that comes through this interview is their care and interest in the career development of their teammates which is ultimately the quickest way to foster growth within a company.

Dan and Amanda discussed their love of their jobs, seeing every day as a new challenge. They are focused on risk management, finance, HR and IT which are departments that often form the backbone of strategy creation within an organization. Amanda embraces Cary's analogy of The Office's Toby as a basis for what HR is thought of, but often is so much more. Amanda's passion clearly is knowing each of the 108 team members she works with and helping them all achieve their career dreams. Dan also picks up the discussion from the previous Dumpster Talk regarding some of the sustainability initiatives LCSWMA is involved in and the mission to serve the community while pushing the envelope to innovate. Due to this innovation Lancaster County's recycling rate is 51% vs. the national average of 32%.
