Ironically enough, Florida Hass isn't from Florida at all; it's actually from California, where it was a seedling part of a research program.

It was brought to Florida by the Zill family where it was later given its name.

The fruit does resemble the traditional, Hass, but doesn't turn black, remaining green at maturity. The flesh is pale-colored and very rich, creamy, and nut flavored.

A delightful avocado for us, though many people growing it in Florida have had poor luck with internal issues and production problems, so we can?t recommend it.

The fruit ripens in the fall here, typically from October through November.

The tree produces A-type flowers.
Race: Guatemalan
Flower type: A
Country: California - USA
