Karnataka Congress Leader BK Hariprasad Stirs New Row, Likens Rebels To 'Prostitutes' | Times Now

Anand Singh, a minister who left the Congress in 2019, was referred to a "prostitute" by BK Hariprasad, the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, for leaving the party less than a year after being elected to represent the Vijayanagara (Hospet) constituency. Anand Singh was the first of the 17 MLAs to leave their positions and join the BJP, which caused the Congress-JD(S) coalition government to fall and opened the door for the BJP to take power in the state. Anand Singh, who had previously won the election on a Congress ticket, ran in the by-election on a BJP ticket and won, keeping the Vijayanagara constituency. The Congress leader said, "You have to give a lesson to the local MLA who has sold everything even his self-respect," without mentioning minister Anand Singh.
