Harmonic Analysis - Prehistory to Greece

Описание к видео Harmonic Analysis - Prehistory to Greece

Hello people,

I am trying out a longer format using the mic settings I showed in the previous video. This video is much longer so if you are into a more podcast vibe then you might enjoy this deep dive into some early philosophical thoughts about music.

This is hopefully going to be the first video of a series of video that looks at music, music technology, and sound design as art rather than craft. In short, rather than explaining how to do a thing, I am going to try to explain why you should do a thing. How is trivial - why takes significantly more time.

If you enjoy the longer format and have some ideas - let me know in the comments and such - does anybody read these.

EDIT: There is a part in the video where I made a mistake - thinking off the top of my head I connected the poem Ode to Man with the Poem Ode to Joy. The melody used to symbolize the EU comes from the Ninth Symphony composed in 1823 by Ludwig Van Beethoven, when he set music to the "Ode to Joy", Friedrich von Schiller's lyrical verse from 1785. Ode to Man being the better poem of course :)

EDIT: There is another brain fart - for some reason I repeatedly called the Lyre a Lute. I have no idea why. Also the first recorded Greek song Epitaph of Seiklos was written in AD 100, I momentarily was thinking of the Hurrian Hymns which date back to Syria BC 1400 so the first recorded music of clay tablet is 3500 approx years old.
