The Mocking Bird telephone exchange project is an attempt to emulate a western electric #5 crossbar telephone exchange on a small scale with modern electronics.

The system supports 8 subscriber lines and 3 E&M type 2 trunks. The E&M type 2 trunks support MF signalling in both directions.

It consists of several PCB's designed with KiCad, and firmware to control the micro-controllers on the line and trunk cards. The firmware currently supports line-to-line, trunk-to-line, and line-to-trunk calls.
