January 2025 RETAKE: One Stop Auto Wash

Here is a 2025 retake of one of my local car washes! This is the One Stop Auto Wash in Chelmsford MA!

This is yet another one of my childhood car washes, as my grandfather used to take me through this exact wash many times when I was younger. He knew someone who worked here and we always got a discount on the top package when we stopped by.

The car wash isn’t the only service in the property. There are a few vacuums, but the other main services here are an exhaust repair shop and a few service bays, for inspections, oil changes and repairs.

The tunnel wash here, was completely different when I was younger. To my knowledge, it opened in the mid-late 90’s and featured all Hanna-Sherman equipment, except the dryers, which were from Genesis. A few upgrades have been done to it for a few years however. This included the installation of a new conveyor, adding a set of new PECO wing dryers and the implementation of the Simoniz Hot Wax & Shine.

The Hanna-Sherman setup remained until late 2018, when it was announced that the tunnel wash would be closed for MAJOR renovations. They gutted out the entire tunnel and started the installation of the new equipment, which would be a combination of Motor City Wash Works and Belanger, which I was NOT expecting.

The new set up has a Accelerator top brush, Crossover wraps with a high pressure attachment, Low rider side brushes, Belanger WaveAcross mitter, rinse/wax arches, LED signage, a 7 producer Air One drying system and a top wheel Dry N Shine, the first one to be installed in my area!
