2. Introduction to Installation Art

Описание к видео 2. Introduction to Installation Art

A wide variety of work falls under the umbrella of ‘Installation Art’. As artist Liam Gillick observes, the term ‘installation art’ describes ‘a mode and type of production rather than a movement or strong ideological framework’. Despite the lack of a consistent theme or objective, there are certain ideas that persist in the work of artists who produce installation work. Central to these works is the desire to activate the viewer and to provoke an acute awareness towards the environments in which we find ourselves.
