My name is Muhammad Nazir and this is my channel ''Lectures of Physics". This channel contains lectures of physics on class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th in easy way.
This video is about physical quantities and measurement class 9 physics. Measurement is the key to learn Physics because Physics is the science of measurement. If you do not know measurement you can never learn Physics. In this lecture I have discussed in detail about measurement and how it is made. The quantities that we measure in daily life are called Physical quantities. This lecture contain the detail of Physical quantities and types of Physical quantities. Physical quantities are properties that can be measured and in terms of which the laws of Physics are expressed. On the basis of measurement Physical quantities have two types. One is Basic Physical quantities and the other is Derived Physical quantities.
The Basic Physical quantities are also called Fundamental Physical quantities. They are seven in number in system International given as
Length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, intensity of light and amount of substance.
Derived Physical quantities are not fixed in number. There are many Derived Physical quantities. All other quantities that we study in Physics except Basic quantities are Derived Physical quantities. Some examples of Derived Physical quantities are given below.
area, volume, pressure, density, speed, accelaration, force, energy etc.
There are also some quantities which cannot be measured. They will not be included in Physical quantities such as hunger, thirst, happiness, sadness, emotions etc.
