We call the dance 'Lunar'. It is our version of the NW dance 'Lostock'.

New Moon Morris is an inclusive mixed Morris side based on the Herts/Beds/Bucks border.
The side welcome new dancers and musicians. We meet most Tuesday evenings from 8:15 to 10:15 at the Old Town Hall, Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire, LU7 9EP. Do message us first on Facebook if you’re coming along so that we can confirm that practice is happening that week!

We were formed at the end of 2014 and we started ‘dancing out’ at the beginning of 2015. We now dance locally as well as at big festivals further afield. We dance anywhere from pubs to museums. In the spring and summer we are ‘dancing out’ most weeks, but we dance in the winter too. We particularly love the opportunity to dance with other sides. We occasionally perform for private events, usually for a fee to our charity of the year. We are also able to provide student workshops in schools to help meet National Curriculum targets. We began in the ‘North West clog tradition’ dances but now are adding dances from other traditions, as well as making new dances of our own.

Oxford Folk Festival 2025: 11-13th April
The Oxford Folk Festival is a small but lively and inclusive grass-roots festival, which takes place annually over a weekend in April. It is largely free to visitors, and it exists to celebrate folk music and dance, and those who perform it, in every possible form. Much of the entertainment is provided by enthusiasts from Oxford and Oxfordshire but we welcome participants from anywhere in the UK or beyond.
