Katrina & The Waves – “Rock N Roll Girl” (SBK) 1989

A UK band with an American lead singer, Katrina, who first found success in Canada with their album, “Walking On Sunshine” in 1984.
That got the attention of Capitol Records, who signed the band to a worldwide deal. The tracks on the Canadian album were reworked and issued as “Katrina & The Waves”. It made #28 on the UK album chart and #25 on the US. ”Walking On Sunshine” became a worldwide hit when issued as a single.

Capitol dropped the band after their next album but they were picked up by Capitol’s subsidiary label, SBK, for whom they recorded the “Break Of Hearts” album which reached #122 on the US album chart in 1989.

“Rock N Roll Girl” was a single from the album and a Hot-100 hit, reaching #93.
