70th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights:
Greek singer Betty Harlafti in Brussels performing Mikis Theodorakis' and Pablo Neruda's Canto General. Mikis Theodorakis' magnificent oratorio Canto General by poet Pablo Neruda will be performed in the heart of Europe, in Brussels with Greek mezzo-soprano Betty Harlafti, often referred to as "the voice of Mikis Theodorakis from the younger generation", for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights.
Betty Harlafti, shortly after the recent release of her personal album in collaboration with the great composer and the Greek National Radio Symphony Orchestra, is invited to participate as the soloist at the belgian project "Canto General Mars 2019". Alongside her, the baritone Kris Belligh and actors Assumpta Serna and Marco Fabbri.
Maestro Landi will be conducting La Badinerie choir and orchestra.
Canto General, the leading work of Mikis Theodorakis, is a "cry of mankind", while through the poetry of Chilean Pablo Neruda the history of the struggling peoples of Latin America emerges. The whole work is for our time an ode to freedom. The concerts will take place at PAMexpo Parc Mitraille on the 14th, 15th and 16th of March 2019 at 20:30 hrs.
