Attended the 2-day Corvette C7 Owners' School (run by the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School) at Spring Mountain Motorsports Resort and Country Club (Pahrump, NV) in June 2017. This is a video compilation of the course's highlights. The Course is designed to increase familiarity with the Corvette C7's capabilities and performance characteristics. In addition to classroom instruction and various drills/exercises to develop skills (ABS familiarity/braking-shifting technique/figure 8 & wet skid braking, etc.), we had 6 track sessions (each about 20-30 minutes) on the 2.1 mile East Track over the 2 days (there are 3 different tracks at the resort). In this video, I am driving a C7 Corvette Stingray Z51, with 8-speed automatic (driven in manual mode with paddle shifters). The course instructors match you with a Corvette which is configured like yours. On the track, the instructors use the "lead/follow" technique, with the instructor in a Camaro SS, watching 3-4 Corvette students in his/her mirror and radio'ing instant feedback along the way. Students take turns being the lead car behind the instructor. The dash cam video with telemetry you'll see was shot with the Corvette's own Performance Data Recorder. The in-car video of me was shot with a windshield-mounted iPhone 5, and the video clips of the car from a distance were shot by my wife from the control tower with a Nikon D7000 DSLR. Guests are treated very well at Spring Mountain. In addition to enjoying food/lodging and other amenities with the students at the on-site resort, they may attend all classroom sessions and may ride with the instructor in the lead vehicle on the track (which she did a couple of times). Highly recommend the Ron Fellows Corvette Owners School! Very informative and a lot of fun at a scenic location. Everything at the school was top notch (facility, amenities, food, instructors, etc).
