WW2 In America : Drive Up Palen Pass Road (California) Onto A World War Two Era Battlefield

Today we leave the Hauser geode beds and drive up to a World War Two Desert Warfare Training Site called Palen Pass. This area was one of, if not the largest, desert warfare training sites in the United States where American soldiers trained for the upcoming desert warfare in North Africa in 1942 and 1943. Many signs of the maneuvers are still present 70 years later to include foxholes, trenches, bomb craters, tank tracks, and artifacts all through the pass. There are even miles of barbed wire still standing that was erected in WW2 as part of the "defenses" of the pass for the mock live-fire battles. Today I drive up to the site and share the things I see and experience along the way.
