Disney’s live-action Snow White (2025) is already shaping up to be one of the studio’s biggest disasters. From casting controversies to backlash over CGI dwarfs and "woke" changes, this remake has been a lightning rod for criticism.

Leading the charge is Rachel Zegler, whose comments about the original 1937 classic sparked outrage among Disney fans. Many feel her dismissive attitude toward the traditional love story and Prince Charming alienates the audience Disney should be trying to win over. Meanwhile, Gal Gadot’s casting as the Evil Queen has left people scratching their heads, as she’s more commonly associated with heroic roles - also she's been very vocal about her political beliefs.

Then there’s the issue of the dwarfs—rather than casting actors with dwarfism, Disney opted for CGI creations, a decision that has angered many in the industry. Plus, the film’s attempt at a more "modern" approach to the classic story has been met with resistance from audiences tired of Hollywood reboots that seem to abandon beloved source material.
