My Amex Platinum Retention Offer (How To Get One)

In this video, we go over how to get a retention offer for the Amex Platinum card by going over my credit card retention offer process. Getting an Amex Platinum retention offer was fairly easy and many other credit cards could give out offers this way as well, especially if they are annual fee credit cards. The American Express Platinum card in 2022 is expensive at $695, so getting an Amex retention offer definitely helps to justify the annual fee.

Overall, this process was pretty quick and easy for the Amex Platinum when I chatted with American Express customer service. I believe that because they increased the annual fee from $550 to $695 last year on the Amex Platinum Card, they anticipated that many people would be asking for retention offers this year in 2022.

If you were wondering, “is the Amex Platinum worth it to keep open?” then a retention offer like the one that I received should help you to say yes! But remember, with any credit card retention offer, including the Amex Platinum credit card, an offer is not guaranteed. This is simply a negotiation for American Express to keep you as a customer, so they have the final say to give you any retention offer at all.
