Action Systems and their influence on the behaviour of dissociated parts in OSDD and DID

Описание к видео Action Systems and their influence on the behaviour of dissociated parts in OSDD and DID

In this video, Dr Mike Lloyd, CTAD Clinic Director, draws upon the academic and clinic work of Ellert Nijenhuis Ph. D. to explain where the behaviour of dissociated parts may originate from.

Ellert writes about Action Systems in the book "The Trinity of Trauma: Ignorance, Fragility and Control", looking at how they are part of the build of personality, affecting behaviour according to environment, time and context. Mike looks at these systems and describes how they are separated into different categories, each with a functional role of approach or avoid, expecially in relation to trauma and subsequent triggers.

In understanding how personality and dissocation are linked, Mike talks about how the process of noticing, understanding and developing control of dissociation can be better achieved by knowledge of these Action Systems.
