The Grass Handling System begins with the mowing deck.

Walker collection decks come in sizes ranging from 36 to 52 inches and feature dual, gear-driven, counter-rotating mowing blades. Two rotation patterns are available - standard and reverse rotation.

Standard rotation blades come together at the front of the deck, moving material directly into the discharge chute. Standard rotation decks are ideal for users who need to collect thick, heavy clippings including leaves and other yard debris.

Reverse rotation blades come together at the rear of the deck, moving material around the edges of the deck before it is channeled into the discharge chute. The simplified design of reverse rotation decks provides exceptional cut quality.

As clippings and debris leave the mowing deck, they are channelled into the deck discharge chute. This custom-molded polyethylene chute connects the mower deck and GHS blower. It slides into the GHS blower allowing for fast deck changes.

The GHS blower is the heart of the Walker Grass Handling System. It acts as a second stage vacuum and propulsion system for clippings and debris. This innovative design utilizes a paddle wheel generating suction which pulls clippings from the deck discharge chute and then accelerates them up the GHS body chute. This two-stage vacuum and propulsion action allows the Walker mower to effectively process long and wet clippings with great results.

As grass leaves the GHS blower, it is channelled up through the mower body into the catcher via the GHS body chute.

The GHS body chute is connected to the GHS PowerFil delivery spout and drive. The PowerFil drive oscillates the delivery spout which helps evenly spread the clippings, packing them in the catcher ensuring a full, even fill every time.

An automatic full signal is connected to an adjustable vane switch on the PowerFil delivery spout. When the catcher is full, the switch is tripped and an audible horn provides a 102 decibel warning to the operator to prevent overfilling and clogging.

The GHS grass catcher is custom molded from high-impact, polyethylene and comes in both 7 and 10 bushel capacities. That’s 8.7 or 12.4 cubic feet of material. It features a removable exhaust screen for easy cleaning — ensuring optimal system performance. An optional large hole screen is available to boost collection performance even in wet conditions.

Air is released from the Grass Handling System through the exhaust deflector. Air travels through the exhaust screen and is directed out and down through the catcher door exhaust opening. This helps reduce airborne dust, even in dry conditions.

The GHS catcher door is hinged for easy tailgate dumping and maintains a low height profile even when open.
