According to the Numinous Spirit Press website, Numinous is defined as "surpassing comprehension or understanding; mysterious." I love this so much, as what is identity but a fluid, shifting, nebulous concept that evolves and changes over time?

I adore everything about the Numinous Tarot by @numinousspirit , it is nurturing and supportive and fills my cup every time I use it. I love that the deck presents a variety of different experiences, celebrating diversity and inclusion fully by way of stunning watercolor and ink illustrations. Cedar McCleod is an incredible artist and I am so grateful for what they have created with this deck.

All of the cards contain gender-neutral keywords and are referenced in this way in the guidebook also. I love this so much, the departure from traditional gendered Page/Knight/Queen/King to instead use Dreamer/Explorer/Creator/Mystic allows me to see myself fully represented in each of these archetypes.

I also love how the Minor Arcana are reenvisioned as Bells (Swords), Candles (Wands), Tomes (Pentacles) and Vials (Cups). The 8 of Bells showing how thoughts can get trapped and ricochet back at you details my own experience so clearly.

The guidebook is a phenomenal resource, it contains 200 pages of beautiful insights on the cards and your tarot practice in general. It is a wonderful resource for Tarot readers of all levels of experience.

This deck will always hold a special place in my heart as it arrived on a day in which I realized some key truths about my own identity as a Queer person. I am so grateful that gorgeous decks like this exist. As I flip through all of the cards I feel seen and validated in ways I hadn't fully allowed myself to be and it is affirming in the most beautiful ways.

The Numinous Tarot is comprised of 79 cards (the 78 cards traditional to a standard Tarot deck plus an additional "The Numinous Card"). The deck is printed on 350 gsm cardstock with a matte linen finish. The cards are standard tarot size, measuring 2.75″ x 4.75″. The deck and guidebook come packaged together in a beautifully illustrated sturdy two piece box, with a ribbon included for easy removal. The Numinous Tarot is now in its third printing, following two previous releases in 2017 and 2019.
