Opal Flame

Описание к видео Opal Flame

This video features kirtan-style chanting of the devotional song "Opal Flame", in which the chanter invokes the presence of Christ Consciousness to manifest as awareness of the spiritual eye and as bliss.

"Opal Flame" was composed by Paramahansa Yogananda and appears in the book "Cosmic Chants" published by Self-Realization Fellowship. "Cosmic Chants" contains instructions on the art of chanting for experiencing healing of body, mind, and soul, and perception of God's blissful presence.

The instruments depicted in this video are harmonium (traditional reed instrument used in Indian kirtan-style chanting), congas (traditional Cuban drums), tablas (traditional drums used for Indian kirtan-style chanting), and keyboard (electric synthesized keyboard made by Nord).

The making of this video served as a means to gather with some of my musician friends to create a bouquet of melodies, harmonies, and rhythms to offer at the feet of the Omnipresent Spirit. The resulting video is offered expressly to share the joy of devotional chanting and in hopes that viewers may feel the same peace and happiness we experienced while recording it.
