Batch cooking doesn’t have to be complicated or take tons of time. I like to keep my vegan food prep SUPER simple, and as quick as possible. I usually prep food a few times during the week rather than doing one massive batch prepping session all in one day. I find it easier to prepare a couple of things at a time and spread out the workload throughout the week. I also keep the flavours pretty neutral with this prep so I can keep my meals versatile. When I prepare food that’s a bit more plain, I can jazz it up however I like by adding different sauces as I go. For example, my tempeh recipe is intentionally really basic so I can use it as a taco or burrito filling with taco seasoning and salsa; as a sandwich or wrap fill with bbq sauce; or with tofu, soy sauce, and sweet chilli sauce for an Asian inspired dish! I also make sauces, share some other ingredients, and spices that I always have on hand to make balanced and delicious meals!
