Is Polyamory (Many Loves) the Future? This was a headline in last week's Washington Post. It was later debated by Bill Maher, Dr. Phil and others. Everyone in America seems to be talking about this concept as if it were new, yet polyamory has been around for hundreds of years and practiced in many countries across the globe. I wrote about this in my book, Sex, Politics Religion: How Delusional Thinking is Destroying America, 10 years ago and critics skewered me for suggesting it as an augment to traditional marriage. Conservative's often ignore the fact that traditional marriage is a failing institution where almost half the marriages end in divorce, in addition to the percentage of people that choose or are forced to stay in broken marriages for financial or other reasons. Polyamory requires a level of emotional maturity that most people simply do not possess.
