In this video, I unbox and share my first impressions of a used WR Case & Sons Cutlery Sod Buster Jr 6137 CS in peach seed jig bone with carbon steel.

I purchased this traditional pocket knife used from eBay for €40, knowing it had been previously carried. Since it’s difficult to judge blade centering, action, spring tension, and cover matching from listing photos alone, I decided to walk through the knife on camera and share my honest thoughts as I inspected it.

This particular Case Sod Buster Junior is dated February 28, 2024 and features:
• Peach seed jigged bone handles
• Carbon steel blade
• Model number 6137 CS
• Traditional slipjoint construction

Overall impressions:

The peach seed jigging and dye are excellent, as I’ve come to expect from Case. The covers are well matched, and the color is beautifully done. The blade centering slightly favors the mark side but does not rub. There is no blade play or wobble in the open position, and the backspring is strong. There are a few minor gaps, but nothing significant.

For €40, this felt like a great value on a classic American traditional pocket knife.
