NIELIT HOSTS MEGA JOB FAIR 2024 TO COMBAT UNEMPLOYMENT IN NAGALAND

In a bid to tackle rising unemployment in Nagaland, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Kohima conducted its 2nd Edition Mega Job Fair 2024 today. The event aimed to connect young job seekers with opportunities in both the private and government sectors. Director L. Lanuwabang highlighted Nagaland's high employee ratio, with 130,000 government jobs, but expressed concern over job saturation and unemployment rates in the state. He urged candidates to embrace available job offers and encouraged employers to view youth as potential employment generators. The fair attracted around 300 candidates and featured 15 recruiters offering 1,600 job openings, with similar events planned for Dimapur, Mokokchung, and Chuchuyimlang.
