Todd Is Using 2 Of His 3 New Words In 24 Hours

Todd gets 3 new words during the 4th of July fireworks to help take his mind off of the noise that distresses him. He gets Upstairs, Downstairs, and Noise. I installed the buttons and modeled the words for him. It only took 18 minutes before he started using the Noise button with all the fireworks going off around us. The next morning when we came upstairs, he first went and pressed Upstairs. Later in the evening around the time the fireworks started the previous evening, he pressed noise. I told him I didn’t hear anything. He pushed it again and I repeated I didn’t hear any noise, and then he said Before. He was thinking about the noise last night and telling me about it.

Todd is a 7-year-old neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 56 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”.
