Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now close | Medieval II: Total War

Compatibility mode
Right click on the executable go to properties "Compatibility" tab "Run this program in compatibility mode"

Steam
Right click game in Steam Library - select 'properties\ local files \ verify game cache' and check for updated game file

Try is going inside your steam folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War copy medieval2.exe and renamed it to kingdoms.exe

Med2ModLauncher
Useful for launching mods or the kingdoms expansions drop in your Medieval II folder and run the executable.

No-CD & No-DVD Patch
SecuROM limits the number of PCs activated at the same time from the same key and can detect conflicts with other software. Use this patch to bypass cd authentication unzip and drop into Medieval II folder and yes to overwrite existing files.
