This presentation focuses on scarlet fever. It is a condition caused by group A beta-haemolytic streptococci, and is most common around winter period. Scarlet fever can be diagnosed clinically, and is typically associated with a sandpaper-like rash on the trunk of the child.
It is typically managed using antibiotics such as amoxicillin or erythromycin!
