Gordon footplate (cab) ride on the Severn Valley Railway June 1998

Описание к видео Gordon footplate (cab) ride on the Severn Valley Railway June 1998

Gordon was built in 1943 by North British for the War Department and used by the Royal Engineers' Longmoor Military Railway (LMR) to train locomotive crews prior to the invasion of France. It was painted in dark blue and red. I had understood that it was the inspiration for Gordon in the Thomas the Tank Engine books but I have been told that it was not named Gordon until 1952. We see it at work on the Severn Valley Railway (SVR) in June 1998 and take a ride on the footplate from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth.
