Panther Road Classics Western Washington’s premier classic & custom auto sales is pleased to offer this 1940 Ford Standard Coupe with only *2150 miles* on frame off build. The car is entirely rust free and is laser straight.
The imposing 1940 Ford a traditional Street Rod build boasts Fords esteemed 351 Cleveland 4BB (5.8 L) from a 1969 Mach 1. The 351C is backed by a Hi-Tech kick down Ford C4 automatic transmission, and a LOKAR Shifter. Getting the power to the road is handled by a Ford 9” rear with a 28 spline and 3.50 gear. The 351C has a Edelbrock Performance series 600cfm/electric choke carburetor, Chrome Flame-Thrower coil, and a Mallory Ignition Unilite Distributor. The high flow aluminum radiator has an electric fan with adjustable temperature controller to keep thing running cool in any driving conditions. To keep you warm is a Vintage Air heater. All wiring is handled by a GM Black Box wiring board. Dual exhaust has all aluminized 2 ¼ tubing with a cross over.
The body was stripped down using plastic media (No sand blasting). Photos of build shows all steps of frame off build (included). A Mustang II power rack and Tubular control arms front suspension with 2” dropped spindles give the aggressive stance. With front disc brakes and rear drums this beauty stops on a dime. All four wheels have brake disc shields. The Clear Laminated glass is by Cascade Glass Co. Seattle WA. A 12V wiper motor kit with 10” straight blades. All new trim and chrome bumpers, braces, wiper arms, and door handles. All new taillight assemblies that include trim, buckets, and lenses. A new 39-40 Ford Poly fuel tank. To keep the correct look 15x6, 15x8 American racing torque thrust II, 195/60R15, 235/70R15 BFGoodrich T/A tires.
Interior by Perfect Fit-McDonald of Seattle WA. in gray cloth, charcoal Columbia carpet, waterproof panelboard, fold down rear seats with seat belts. The fold down seats is prefect for kids. A custom Alpine TDA-7548-FM/AM stereo/Alpine CHA-1204 12 CD disc player sound system to roll with your favorite tunes. The bucket seats have floor courtesy lights. Tilt steering wheel column is from a 69 Mustang. Nothing beats Stewart Warner Wing gauges. The classic design features curved glass lenses, chrome bezels, teardrop pointers with crescent-moon tails and distinctive Wings logo. White face dial speedometer, oil pressure, water temp, fuel, voltmeter, with an electric tachometer.
