99 Bishopsgate is a commercial and office building in 99 Bishopsgate, London, EC2M 3XD, England, UK. It had the height of 104 metres | 341 ft and 26 floors. It completed in 1976 and was recladding in 1994. Upon completion, it had the fastest lifts in Europe, running at up to 6.5 metres per second at the time. In 1993, 99 Bishopsgate was extensively damaged by a truck bomb exploded by the Provisional IRA, which also damaged the neighbouring Tower 42. After the incident, the building was fully refurbished over a period of 14 months, which resulted in substantially improved cladding and a facade overrun which increased its overall height slightly. Larger, open plan floorplates were also created.
